My Summer Solstice Ritual
The Equinoxes and Solstices are important to me. Today I had good intentions to go be a part of a bigger event, but I didn't. My kids are off to the little town fair tonight & my husband is still at work. I thought about taking a walk alone on a favorite trail, but wasn’t sure about timing. So I just let my intuition guide me. Today was up & down emotionally so I wanted something that would ground and center me.
I opted to sit on my very old redwood table, barefoot, with my singing bowl and my two piece of golden Topaz.
It’s evening and the Sun is beginning to set, but there are no clouds in the sky. My singing bowl connects to the Crown Chakra when you strike it. So I struck it strongly and said to myself that I am open to the energy of the Universe. Then I made it sing, which is a tone for the Heart Chakra. "I am opening my heart to universal love." I did this three times.
Then I sat with my two lovely pieces of Topaz, one in each palm. I allowed them to soak up the energy of the Sun and fill me with that energy too. I closed my eyes and just sat there with the energy of the stones and the energy of the Solstice Sun. My heart felt full and recharged, which was just what I needed.
**and as I was typing this up, my dogs alerted me to a very large deer at the edge of our driveway. Thank you.
While this was a small ritual, it felt like just what I needed. I would love to hear how you celebrated the Solstice or connected to the changing of the seasons today.
